CHRIS™ – the unstructured compressible reacting flow solver from Cascade Technologies – has been developed for Large Eddy Simulation of reacting flows where compressibility effects are important. CHRIS’s chemistry modeling is based on the Flamelet Progress Variable (FPV) approach. The FPV approach allows the computation of the chemistry to be performed independently of the combustor simulations: as a result, computational costs are drastically decreased, yet simulation of complex chemical mechanisms is allowed. CHRIS has been successfully applied to predict supersonic reacting flow details associated with the fuel injection, mixing, and reaction of scramjet engines in high-Mach number flight conditions. …………………………………………………………………………………… To learn more about CHRIS™, please download the product technical brochure
